LONG TERM OBJECTIVES ARE UNREALISTIC FOR WEBSITE SINCE RATE OF CHANGE IN THE MARKETPLACE IS SO RAPID BECAUSE…

The rapid change rate in the market is the main cause at this point. The long term objectives are not a good fit due to the rapidness. Rapid change of rate within the market place means progressive market and tentative challenges or opportunities. Furthermore, according to Anderson & Sharpe (2001) there are two factors that play an integral role in the rapid change rate in the marketplace or progressive market, they are’ technology and social goals’ and ‘life style and consumer behavior’. Judging by the the two factors mentioned above, the first is technology and social goals that means satisfaction, branding and trust to the customers. The second is life style and consumer behavior that means the way marketplace moves, changes the preference and mindset of customers or consumers. In my very personal opinion, this can be concluded that the the long term objectives for website do not seem to be able to accommodate the rapid change rate in market place because they are likely to dictate and distort the market place through the website despite the rapidness in the marketplace. In addition, a website should apply short term or flexible goals such as adapting to consumer needs, going with the flow of the market and overseeing the opportunity in the tentativeness to compete in the rapid change rate within the marketplace.
Another good points and answers that can be used to justify why the long term objectives are unrealistic for website to compete in the rapid marketplace I think are, according to Talay, Calantone & Voorhes (2013) ‘innovation extensiveness’ that refers to a company constantly adapting their business to the marketplace interest, ‘learning of population’ that refers to the learning of awareness and observation of the customers’ responses to the market and how competitors may take action to deal with customers. These two good points clearly define that long term objectives are suitable for website, urging a company or a website to never stop innovating and creating an invention in order for it to meet the demand of the marketplace and customers. Plus, the long terms objectives do affect the 4 ps and 4cs;

The 4 ps;
1.product., due to long terms objectives, the product tends to be less innovated and they do not bother marketplace and customer demand
2.price. a price always fluctuates, the long terms objectives do not deal with such circumstance
3.place, customer tends to picky and criticize if there is no change of place, the long terms objectives only focus on one way instead of two way business model
4.promotion. a rapid change rate in the marketplace requires dynamic promotion, long terms objectives are not a good fit for website since it needs to adjust to the marketplace itself

the 4cs;
1.customer needs and wants. In the rapid and competitive marketplace, the customer needs and wants tend to be progressive. So that a website should not bother applying long term objectives
2.cost to the customer. So does the cost to the customer, the cost tends to fluctuate and it is related to the price of 4ps
3.convenience. the convenience of customer is slightly tricky in the rapid marketplace. So hence why it is important to consider ‘population learning’ as mentioned earlier
4.communication. communication in the rapid market place tends to get agile and blitz.

To conclude, a website should adopt flexible goals in order for it to meet the criteria and demand in the marketplace that has rapid change especially when dealing with customers.
